About Val Harrison, NC, Founder

My journey toward better health through nutrition began about 10 years ago, when I was struggling with chronic digestive problems, asthma, allergies, insomnia, anxiety, and migraines. After seeing several doctors who couldn’t tell me what was wrong with my gut, my biggest issue, I took it upon myself to solve the puzzle.

Through my own research and a two-week cleanse, I discovered I was gluten intolerant, and this was the first catalyst for changing my diet and becoming more aware of the links between nutrition and health. After taking the first steps toward a diet that addressed my body’s issues, my digestive issues dramatically improved. This inspired me to continue my investigation and, over time, I began to understand more about my overall health. I uncovered other food sensitivities and realized that my health problems were directly connected to what I put in and on my body.

I now focus on 100% organic, whole foods and specific nutrients for my individual issues, and I’ve reduced my overall toxic load by choosing natural body and home products, eliminating plastics exposure, and filtering drinking water through a carbon block filter.

These changes have produced additional health benefits, including nearly eliminating symptoms of asthma and allergies (no longer using a daily inhaler or OTC allergy medicine), insomnia, and anxiety, and completely eliminating migraines. I also feel a sense of well-being that extends beyond physical health.

Today, I use my knowledge and experience to ensure my husband and daughter live healthy lives, as well.

My experience, and the tremendous benefits I gained from a better diet, eventually inspired me to pursue nutrition as a career, so I could help others live healthier, happier lives. My passion is to share my knowledge with families and help them discover natural ways to help the body heal itself. I graduated with honors from Bauman College’s Nutrition Consultant program in March of 2015 and now practice in Oakland, California.
